a pencil eraser loses tiny pieces of rubber each time you use it why does this happen

eraser loses its tiny pieces because of friction coz when we erase something say paper then paper come in contact which h causes heating and this results in breaking of eraser..

Yeah it is due to the disturbances which is created by you or any system associated with it.. When you rub it the molecules face a tremendous amount of force .. Which causes molecules to bend or move in the direction opposite to the applied force as it is caused by the disturbances and irregularities within the structures.. Thus we see molecules tearing apart with each other due to inertia
