A pencil when dipped in water in a glass tumber appears to be bent at the interface of air and eater. Will the pencil appear to be bent the some extent if instead of water we use liquid like kerosene or turpentine support you'r answer with reason.

when light enters from optically denser medium to optically rares medium its speed slows down as its travelling through an angle so pencil appears to bent but it depends on refractive index of object water's refrective index is more so light will travell slowest in water while in kerosebe refractive index is1 .4640 optically denser than water so when pencil s dipped in kerosene or turpentinr image will not bent
