frequency is define as number of oscillation per sec

t=4 sec

time period= 4/40=0.1 sec

frequency= no. of oscillation/ time

40/4= 10Hz

Given :-

Number of oscillations - 40

Time taken - 4 s

To find :-

Time period

Frequency

Solution:-

As we know that,

  \boxed{ \rm \pink{ \: Time \: \: period \:  =  \frac{Time \: taken}{No.of \: oscillations} }}

Substituting the values,

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \rm \:  \implies \: Time \: period =  \dfrac{4}{40}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \rm \:  \implies \: Time \: period =  \dfrac{1}{10}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \rm \:  \implies \: Time \: period =  0.1 \: s

So, the time period is 0.1 s

Also we know that,

  \boxed{ \rm \pink{ \: Frequency \:  =  \frac{1}{time \: taken \: } }}

 \rm \:  \implies \: Frequency \:  =  \dfrac{1}{0.1}

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \rm \:  \implies \: Frequency \:  =  \dfrac{1}{ \dfrac{1}{10} }

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \rm \:  \implies \: </p><p>Frequency \:  =  \dfrac{1 \times 10}{ 1}

 \: \: \:  \rm \:  \implies \: Frequency \:  =  10 \: Hz

So, the Frequency is 10 Hz
