Given-

  • Number of oscillations = 40 times
  • Time = 4 seconds

To find the frequency(v) of pendulum-

\tt{frequency(v) = \tt{\frac{number \: of \: oscillations}{time}}}

\tt{frequency(v)= \tt{\frac{40}{4} =10hz}}

Now, to find time period(T)-

\tt{time \: period = \tt{\frac{1}{frequency \: of \: oscillations}  =  \tt{\frac{1}{10}  = 0.1s}}}

So, the time period of pendulum is 0.1 seconds and frequency of pendulum is 10 Hz.

\huge\tt\bold\purple{Additional \: information} -

  • Frequency of oscillations is defined as the number of oscillations of a vibrating body per second.

  • The time taken by the vibrating body for one complete vibration (oscillation) is called time period. It is given by the inverse of the frequency.

  • Th SI unit of frequency is Hertz (Hz).

  • A bigger unit of frequency is called kilohertz. ( 1 KHz = 1000 Hz)
