Frequency = number of cycles/time taken

= 40/4 = 10 Hz

Time period = 1/f = 0.1 second.

Time Period

Time period = Time/No. of oscillations in time

→ Time period = 4/40

→ Time period = 0.1 sec

Frequency

Frequency = 1/Time period

→ Frequency = 1/0.1

→ Frequency = 10 Hz

  • Hence, the time period is 0.1 sec & frequency is 10 Hz.
