then in 1 second it oscillates 10 times .

hence it's frequency is 10 Hz

now ,

to oscillate 10 times it takes 1 second .

Then to complete one oscillation it will take : 1/10 sec

= 0.1 sec

this is it's time period

Therefore,

No.of oscillation=40

Time taken to complete 40 oscillation=4sec

Therefore

40 oscillation=4sec

So,1 is oscillation= 4/40

So T=1/10sec

Then,F=1/T

So,1/1/10

=1/1*10

=10Hz
