Given : A pendulum oscillates 50 times in 10 seconds.

To find : What is its time period and frequency?

Using formula :

1) Frequency = Number of times the pendulum oscillates/Total number of time taken.

2) Time period = Number of oscillation per second/Frequency.

Calculations :

→ Frequency = 50/10

→ Frequency = 5 hertz

→ Time period = 1/5

→ Time period = 0.2 seconds

Therefore,

Frequency = 5 hertz.

Time period = 0.2 seconds.

Given:

A pendulum oscillates 50 times in 10 seconds .

To find:

Time period and frequency of pendulum ?

Calculation:

  • Time period is defined as the total time taken to complete one full oscillation by the pendulum.

So, 50 oscillations are completed in 10 sec.

Hence, 1 oscillation will be completed in :

 =  \dfrac{10}{50}  = 0.2 \: sec

So, time period is 0.2 second.

  • Frequency is the reciprocal of time period. It is defined as the number of oscillations completed in one second.

 \implies \: f =  \dfrac{1}{T}

 \implies \: f =  \dfrac{1}{0.2}  = 5 \: hz

So, frequency is 5 Hz.
