Simple Pendulum is a very small heavy metal bob suspended at a point from a firmly fixed support using a single strand thread so that it oscillates freely. The distance between the point of suspension and centre of bob is called the length of the pendulum.

One oscillation: One complete to and fro motion of the oscillating body is called one oscillation.

Frequency: It is the number of oscillations made by the body in one second.

Time Period: It is the time taken by a body to complete one oscillation.

Hence, the Frequency and Time period are calculated as follows.

Time period = Time taken by the pendulum/Number of oscillations made by the pendulum.

10/20=2s

Frequency =1/Period

2/1  =0.5Hz

Hence, the Time period and frequency are 2 seconds and 0.5 Hertz respectively.

Explanation:

Carboxyl group

According to Organic Chemistry, Carboxyl functional groups can be detected by Sodium Hydrogenate Test to differentiate them from phenol groups. On adding Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate to any Carboxyl containing compound, brisk effervescence of CO₂ is observed. This confirms the presence of Carboxyl group in the compound.
