Answer:

Previous salary =Rs.7200

Salary for now =Rs.8100

Increment in salary =8100−7200

                                =Rs.900

now, % of increase in salary = increment in salary / previous salary X 100

= 900 / 7200 X 100

= 100 / 8

= 12\frac{1}{2} %

Correct Question:

A person salary increases from Rs. 7200 to Rs. 8100. What is the the percentage increase in his salary?

Given:

  • Orignal Salary = Rs. 7200
  • Increased Salary = Rs. 8100
  • How much increased = Rs. 8100 - Rs. 7200 = Rs. 900

What To Find:

Find the increased percentage.

Solution:

Using the formula,

\sf{Increased\:\% = \dfrac{Increased\:in\:salary}{Oringinal\:salary} \times 100}

Substitute the values,

\sf{Increased\:\% = \dfrac{900}{7200} \times 100}

Cancel the zeros in 900 and 7200,

\sf{Increased\:\% = \dfrac{9}{72} \times 100}

Cancel 9 and 72,

\sf{Increased\:\% = \dfrac{1}{8} \times 100}

Cancel 100 and 8,

\sf{Increased\:\% = 12.5\:\%}

∴ Therefore the increased percentage is 12.5 %.
