let us assume that person carried rs 100 initially
after spending on food, he was left with rs 80
money spent on travel=5% of 80= rs 4
so percentage of money he is left out with= 76.
total money he was left with= 1400+120=rs 1520
so 76% is equated to rs 1520
1% is equated to 1520/76=20
100% is equated to rs 20*100=Rs 2000
so that man initially had carried rs 2000
money spent on travel= 4% of rs 2000= rs 80
after spending on food, he was left with rs 80
money spent on travel=5% of 80= rs 4
so percentage of money he is left out with= 76.
total money he was left with= 1400+120=rs 1520
so 76% is equated to rs 1520
1% is equated to 1520/76=20
100% is equated to rs 20*100=Rs 2000
so that man initially had carried rs 2000
money spent on travel= 4% of rs 2000= rs 80
