A person adds 1.71 gram of sugar (C12H22O11)
order to sweeten his tea. The number of carbon
atoms added are (mol. mass of sugar = 342)
(1)3.6 x 10 ^22
(2) 7.2 x 10^21
(3) 0.05
(4) 6.6 x 10^22

Answer:

Explanation:

Sugar(C12H22O11 with mol.wt=342 g)

We know that,1 mole of sugar has 12*Na(Avogadro num) of atoms

342 g----------------->12*6*10^23 atoms

1.71 g-------------------> ?

On cross multiplying we get

=3.6*10^22 carbon atoms are added to his sugar.

Moles of sugar = 1.71/342= 0.005No. Of C atoms are 0.005*6.023*12*10^231.71/342*6.023*12*10^(23)=3.6*10^(22) atoms of carbon

(1 )3.6×10^22
