Step-by-step explanation:

area of square = 12*12 = 144 cm2

area of rectangle = area of square

6*X=144

X=144/6

x=24. length of rectangle = 24 cm

Given : A person bends a piece of wire to make a square with a side of 12 cm From the same piece of wire ,he makes a rectangle with a width of 6cm

To Find : length of the rectangle

Solution:

a piece of wire is used which reflect perimeter of square and rectangle

Hence here perimeter of square = perimeter of rectangle

Perimeter of square = 4 x side

= 4 x 12

= 48 cm

Perimeter of rectangle =  2 ( Length + width)

= 2( Length + 6)

Equate both

2( Length + 6) = 48

=> Length + 6 = 24

=> Length = 18

length of the rectangle = 18 cm
