The person earned a profit of Rs. 100,000.

• Given,

Length of a piece of cloth bought by a person = 400 m

Cost price of the cloth = Rs. 60000

• Selling price of per metre of cloth = Rs. 400

=> Selling price of 400 m cloth = Rs. 400 × 400 = Rs. 160,000

• Since the selling price of the cloth is greater than its cost price, the person earns a profit.

• Therefore, the profit earned by the person = Selling Price - Cost Price

=> Profit = Rs. 160,000 - Rs  60,000

Or, profit =  Rs. 100,000
