Given info : A person bought a bicycle for a certain amount of money. He spent 15% of the cost, on repairs and sold it for a profit of Rs. 1150.

To find : the amount spent on the repairs by him to make the profit 25 %.

Solution : profit = 1150 = 25% of price of bicycle

⇒1150 = 25% (cost price + sent on repair)

⇒1150 = 25% (x + 15% of x)

⇒1150 = 1/4 (x + 3x/20)

⇒1150 × 4 = 23x/20

⇒200 × 20 = x

⇒x = 4000

now 15 % of 4000 = 15 × 4000/100 = 600

Therefore he spent 600 Rs on repairs if he made the profit of 25% .

Answer:

 \huge {\bf {\blue {\underline  {\underline {answer}}}}}

Profit = 1150 = 25 %

➡️ 1150 = 25% (x + 15% of x)

➡️ 1150 = 25%( x + 3x/20 )

➡️1150 = ¼ (x + 3x/20)

➡️ 1150× 4 = 23x/20

➡️ 200 × 20 = x

➡️ x = 4000

Now,

15% of 4000

15 × 4000/100

= 600
