Given :

Number of articles = 935

Cost of articles = 1800 rs

Sells 2/7 part at 20% profit.

To find :

% loss of remaining articles for no total profit or loss.

Solution :

It is given that

20 % profit is shared by 2/7 parts of 935 articles

As all articles = 935 , which has cost = 1800 rs

so

cost of 2/7 parts of article:

 \frac{1800 \times 2}{7}  =  \frac{3600}{7}

So,

20% of cost of 2/7 parts of article = profit of 2/7 parts :

 \frac{3600 \times 20}{7 \times 100}   =  \frac{720}{7}

So Sell price of 2/7 parts of article :

 \frac{3600}{7}  +  \frac{720}{7}  =  \frac{4320}{7} rs

Similarly

Cost of remaining (5/7) parts :

 \frac{1800 \times 5}{7}  =  \frac{9000}{7} rs

To get total 0 % loss and profit.

The profit in 2/7 parts must be compensated as loss in remaining 5/7 parts of articles.

So

Loss of 5/7 parts of articles = Profit of 2/7 parts of articles

So

Loss of 5/7 parts of particles :

 \frac{720}{7} rs

% of loss in 5/7 particles :

 \frac{9000 \times x}{7 \times 100}  =  \frac{720}{7}  \\  \\ x =  \frac{720}{90}  =  \frac{72}{9}  = 8

So,

% loss of remaining 5/7 particles to make total 0% loss and profit :

= 8%
