A person can row 18 km downstream and 27 km upstream in 3 hours. Another person can row 18 km upstream and 27 km downstream in 2 hours 42 minutes. What is the time taken by per person to row 25 km upstream​

let speed of boat in still water=y km/hr

diatance1=27km Distance2=18km  .........(given)

=>speed upsteram=y-x (SPEED1)

and speed downstream=y+x(SPEED2)

=>time1=distance2/speed2

=time1=18/(y+x)

similarly time2=27/(x-y)

thus as per condition, time1=time2=3 hours

=>(18/(x+y))+((27/(x-y))=3

similarly solving other condition to get values of x and y by making simultaneous equation....
