Answer:

Speed is the distance travelled per unit time.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

time to cover a certain distance = 8 hours

if,

speed reduced by 36.66% = 36 2/3%

then 132 km less will be covered in same time

To find : actual speed

Speed = Distance / time

Speed = Distance / 8. ----------(1)

reduced speed = 300 - 110/300 of original speed

reduced speed = 190/300 of original speed

reduced speed = distance -132 / 8

190 /300 of original speed = (distance -132) / 8

 \frac{190}{300}  \times  \frac{distance}{8}  =  \frac{distance - 132}{8}  \\  \frac{19 \times distance}{30 \times 8}  = \frac { distance - 132}{8}

cancel out 8 from both sides in the denominator

now after doing cross multiplication,

19× distance = 30 (distance - 132)

19 × distance = 30 × distance - 3960

19 × distance - 30 × distance = -3960

- 11 × distance = -3960

distance = -3960 / - 11

distance = 360 km

original speed = original distance / time

original speed = 360 / 8

original speed = 45 km per hour

The actual speed of the person is 45 km per hour.
