Answer:

M = 20 kg

h = 1 m

Work done against gravitational force,

W = mgh

= 20 x 9.8 x 1

= 196 J

Given:

The mass of stone, m = 20 kg

Time, t = 2 hours

To Find:

The work done by the person in carrying the stone.

Calculation:

- As the man does not moves, so the displacement is zero, i.e., s = 0

- Work done = Force × Displacement

⇒ W = F × s

⇒ W = m × g × s

⇒ W = 20 × 10 × 0

W = 0

- So, no work is done by the person in carrying a stone on his head and standing, i.e., W = 0.
