in echo, sound travels two times
first, from the man to cliff..
second, from cliff to man..
so the time it took to come from cliff to man is half of the given time, that is
5/2=2.5 seconds
as,
speed=distance/time
so from given question we gets,
speed= 2340 m/s
time=2.5 seconds(it is half of the given time because the sound travels two times)

as the sound will travel to cliff and will come back from cliff
speed= distance/time
speed*time = 2d
