Answer :

Total distance travelled

= (30 + 60) km

= 90 km

and

Total time

= (30/6 + 7) hours

= (5 + 7) hours

= 12 hours

So, the average speed of the person

= (Total distance travelled)/(Total time)

= 90/12 km/h

= 7.5 km/h

A person complete 30 km of a journey at 6 km/hr and the remaining 60 km in 7 hours. find his average speed.

{ \bf{ \underline{  \red{\underline{ \red{Solution    : -  } }}}}}

{ Accirding to question }

Case 1 :- Distance covered by man with speed is as follow,

Distance = 30 km & Speed = 6 km/hr

Case 2 :- Distance covered by man in perticular time is as follow,

Distance = 60 km & Time = 7 hour

Now we need to find time for case 1 we use formula

 { \bf{ \dashrightarrow{Speed =  \frac{ Distance  }{Time} }}}

 { \bf{ \dashrightarrow{6 =  \frac{ 30  }{Time} }}}

 { \bf{ \dashrightarrow{Time =  \frac{ 30  }{6} }}}

 { \bf{ \dashrightarrow{Time =  5 \: hour }}}

5 hour taken by person to cover 30 km with speed 6 km/hr.

Now, to calculate average speed

 { \bf{ \small {\dashrightarrow{Average  \: speed =  \frac{ Total \: distance  }{Total \: time} }}}}

 { \bf{ \small {\dashrightarrow{Average  \: speed =  \frac{ 30+ 60}{5 + 7} }}}}

 { \bf{ \small {\dashrightarrow{Average  \: speed =  \frac{ 90 }{12} }}}}

 { \bf{ \small {\dashrightarrow{Average  \: speed =  7.5 \:km/hr \:   }}}}

Hence average speed of person is 7.5 km/hr .
