Given:

Distances:

D1 = 180Km

D2 = 240km

D3 = 300Km

Speeds:

S1 = 60 Km/hr

S2 = 80 Km/hr

S3 = 50 Km/hr

To Find:

Average Speed

Solution:

We Know,

Average speed = Average distance / Average time

Distance = speed * time

time = distance/speed

Now,

T1 = D1/S1

T1 = 180/60 = 3 Hrs

T2 = D2/S2

T2 = 240/80 = 3 Hrs

T3 = D3/S3

T3 = 300/50 = 6 Hrs

Average time = ( 3 + 3 + 6 ) / 3

Average time = 12/3 = 4 Hrs

Average distance = (180 + 240 + 300) / 3

Average distnace = 240 Km

so,

Average Speed = 240 / 4

Average Speed = 60 Km/Hr

So, the  Average Speed is 60 Km/Hr.
