a)GIVEN that k is a zero of the polynomial x² –100x - 20000.
Let f(x) = x² –100x – 20000.
Since k is a zero of f(x) so (x=k)
On putting x= k in f(x).
k² –100k – 20000
k² -200k +100k - 20000
k (k - 200) +100(k -200)
(k+100) (k-200)
f(x)=0
(k+100) (k-200)= 0
(k+100)= 0 or (k-200)= 0
k = -100 or k= 200
k = 200 , k=-100[number of books can't be negative]
Hence, the number of books distributed = 200.
b) Love & care, humanity, kindness, etc.
