A person does not get injured when he/she falls with a parachute on the earth from the areoplane... why?

When a person falls with an parachute & opens the parachute the area by which was the person was falling changes into landing and parachute lightens up the our body by increasing surface area .
As our body was occupying less area the weight was more & now the weight is uplifted by parachute .
