A person fires a gun and it's echo is heard after 3s. Find the distance of the gunman from the cliff which produces the echo

Time = 3s

Speed of sound = 340m/s

Total distance=2d


Distance of the gunman from the cliff=d


Speed= distance/ time

340 = 2d / 3

2d = 340*3

2d = 1020

d = 1020/2

d = 510m


Therefore the distance of the gunman from the cliff is 510m.
