Given :  Goes from his home with uniform speed of 20 metre per second in  the half hour and returns to home with uniform speed of the 10 metre per second

To Find : distance between the home and Hospital

average speed and the velocity of the entire journey

Solution:

Average Velocity = Displacement / Time

Average Speed =  Distance / Time

Displacement = Final position - Initial Position

Person return back to original position

Hence Final position =  Initial Position

=> Displacement = 0

Average Velocity =  0/time = 0

uniform speed of 20 metre per second

Time = half hour = 30 mins = 30 * 60 = 1800 sec

Distance = 20 * 1800   = 36000 m   = 3.6 km

Speed in return = 10 m/s

Time = 36000/10  = 3600 secs

Total Distance = 36000 + 36000 = 72000 m

Total Time = 1800 + 3600 = 5400 sec

Average Speed = 72000/5400  = 720/54

= 40/3

= 13.33 m/s

Distance between the home and Hospital is 3.6 km

Average Velocity = 0

Average speed = 13.33 m/s
