24 kmh is the average speed of his entire journey.

Given Problem:

A person goes to market from his home with an average speed of 20 km/hr on his return trip along the same route there is less traffic and the average speed is 30 km/hr .what will be the average speed for his entire journey.

Solution:

To Find:

Average speed for his entire journey

-------------------------------------------

Given That,

Let the distance traveled by Abdul from home to school = y km.

Time taken to reach the school = t 1 second.

For Return journey,Abdul cover distance = y km.

Time = t2 second.

Average speed for forward journey{home - school}= \frac{Total distance}{Total time.}

20 km/h = y/t1

t1  =s/20 h -------------equation(1)

⇒Average speed for backward journey[school -home]= \frac{Total distance}{Total time.}

30 km/h =s/t2

⇒t2=y/30h ----------------equation(2)

Average distance for entire journey = \frac{Total distance}{Total time.}

According to formula,

⇒(s+s)/[s/20 +s/30]

⇒2s/s[1/20+1/30]

⇒2x20x30/50

⇒24 km/hr..........................(Answer)
