Solution :-

Let us assume that,

  • In larger plot , Maize cultivation area is 8x and barley cultivation area is 9x .
  • In smaller plot , Maize cultivation area is 13y and barley cultivation area is 15y .

so,

→ (8x + 13y)/(9x + 15y) = 29/33

→ 264x + 429y = 261x + 435y

→ 264x - 261x = 435y - 429y

→ 3x = 6y

→ x/y = 2/1

then,

→ Maize cultivation in the larger plot : barley cultivation in the smaller plot = 8x : 15y = 8*2 : 15*1 = 16 : 15 (Ans.)
