Memory, intelligence, logical thinking and reasoning are controlled by the cerebrum. For the cerebrum to function efficiently adequate amount of serotonin and dopamine has to be released, which does not occur or is hindered when a person loses control over his/her emotions or vice versa.

Therefore, when person loses control on emotions, the cerebrum is most likely to be affected.
