lets x be the speed and y be the time then
xy=48 equation 1
and (x+4)(y-1)=48
4y-x=4 equation 2
now from equ.1 we can say x=48/y place y in equation 2 such that
4y-48/y=4 simplify to get a quadratic equation y^2-4y-12=0 to get y=4,-3
