Before understanding the treatment, it is essential to understand what is Cholera. Cholera is a bacterial disease which spreads through contaminated water.  Few symptoms of this disease are Diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, and dehydration.

A person suffering from Cholera is given Rehydration Therapy. This therapy enables a person suffering from cholera to be hydrated thereby replacing the lost fluids. Usually, oral rehydration salts are used for this. These salts are mixed with water to provide the necessary liquid consumption for a patient.
