It's simple mate

it is just a game of momentum

you just need to understand that when a person hits a concrete, concrete also moves that makes the collision time large and as we know that force has a inverse relationship with time(more time, less force and vice versa)

So less force means less pain

Answer : -

A person hit harder when he falls on a concrete floor than when he falls on a heap of sand from the same height because he is brought on a hard surface to rest in a very short time and so the greater force is called into play and whereas and on a sandy surface and he is brought to rest in a longer time and so the lesser force is called into play . I cannot understand why he is brought on a hard surface to rest in a very short time whereas and on a sandy surface and he is brought to rest in a longer time .
