no,he has not done any work there. holding a book doesn't require even any fraction of force to be applied.in this criteria we are not applying any force except keeping the book on his head. hence work done by the person is 0.

No he has not done any work. According to the scientific definition of work...work is said to be done only when a force is applied and the object gets displaced but here in this case the object has not displaced ...no matter that whether a person holds the hay bundle over his head for 30 minutes or even an hour he has not done any work .
