A person invested some amount at the rate of 12% simple interest and some other amount at the rate of 10% simple interest. He received yearly interest of Rs.130. But if he had interchanged the amounts received, he would have received Rs. 4 more as interest. How much did he invest at different rates?

simplifying 0.12x + 0.1y = 130 .......................... Eq 1

Now amt are reversed and total interest increases by Rs 4

Now, Total interest = 10x/100 + 12y/100 = 130+4

Simplifying .1x + .12y = 134 ......................... Eq 2

solving Eq 1 and 2 we get x=500 and y=700
