A person invests a part of ~ 15,000 in 12% stock at ~ 150 and balance in 15% stock at ~ 180. if his total dividend per annum is ~ 1,240, how much does he invest in 12% stock ?

Let investment in 12% stock be Rs. x.

Then, investment in 15% stock = Rs. (15000 - x).

(12/150) x +(15/180)x (15000 - x) = 1240

solve u will get x as 3000 rs
