a) The injury is fatal

Explanation:

In this case, the person might have fallen down and sustained a fatal injury like he got too much big wound. This may cause external haemmorage which can lead to death. Well, this type of incident is very rare to happen unless the person fell down with a great force.

Second reason might be due to the less production of platelets in the blood. Platelets are small cells found in our blood, which have no nucleus. They help in blood-clotting (they form a small membrane on the wound to prevent the flow and loss of blood). In many disorders like diabetes, this is very likely to happen (deficiency of platelets in our blood). So, the person might be suffering from diabetes which made the blood flow continuously from the wound.
