Hello !!
Here is your answer ...

\underline{Given\: in \:the\: question}:
=>He throws the next ball after the previous ball reaches at the top.

=>He is throwing 2 balls every second .

\bold{Which \:means\: that \:ball\: reaches\: the}
\bold{the\: maximum \:height\:in \:O.5 \:second}

Height=?

Final velocity (v) will be zero when the ball ball will be at top . So,
V=0m/s

Note:\bold{Gravity\: is\: in \:opposite\: direction}

\underline{We\:know\:that,}

v=u+(-g)t

u=v+gt

u=0+10*0.5 [g=10m/s² ]

u=5 m/s

Now,
v² - u² =2(-g)h
0² - 5² =-2*10*h
-25=-20*h
h=25/20
h=5/4
\bold{\underline{h=1.25m}}

Hope
It
