A person is unable to see objects distinctly placed with in 50 cm from his eye.

According to the data mentioned in the question the person is most probably a victim of an optical disease which is known as the myopia.

In this particular optical disease the victim can see the nearby things clearly but not the things situated at distance.

The main reasons of the occurrence of this disease:

1) This disease can be enetically conducted from one progeny to another.

2) Excessive pressure on the eyes can also cause this disease.
