The distance traveled by him is 50 km

Let the distance travelled by the person be x km.

Speed at which he was walking initially = 10 km/hr

Time taken = Distance/Speed = x/10 hr

If his speed was 14km/hr, he would have walked 20 km more.

Distance covered now = (x + 20) km

Time taken = (x+20)/14 hr

As both the time taken is the same, so

x/10 = (x+20)/14

⇒ 14x = 10x + 200

⇒ 4x = 200

⇒ x= 200/4 = 50 km

50 km is the required answer.
