Time = 1.25 sec velocity = 332
Speed = distance/time
Distance= unknown
So distance = speed * time
1.25/2*332. ( 1.25/2 because it is time taken by echo to reach the man so the time to reach sound from man to object is half of the time given)
After calculation you answer is 201.25

An echo is a sound that is repeated because the sound waves are reflected back.

As per the question when a person makes a loud sound he heard the echo after 1.25 seconds , that means it took 1.25/2 sec to reach the person after reflecting !!

Time = 1.25/2 sec

Speed = 332 m/s

In order to calculate the distance we use the following formula :

 \huge   \sf distance = speed \times time \\

[Substituting the values]

 \sf d = 332 \times  \frac{1.25}{2}

 \sf d = 166 \times 1.25

 \sf distance = 207.5m

Hence , the person is 207.5m away from the object !
