kumarmangalam: brother the distence is 30^1/2 that is the square root of 30.........not 30 and half.....

we know that displacement is a shortest distence between final point to initial point.
DC=30^1/2m
BC=20 m
so ....BD=DC-BC
=(30^1/2-20) m
now in trangle ABD
AD^2=AB^2+BD^2
=20^2+(30^1/2-20)^2
=400+30+400-40×30^1/2
=830-40×30^1/2
AD^2=830-40×5.67
=830-226.8
=603.2
AD=ROOT 603.2
AD=24.56 m
hence the displacement is 24.56m approx.......
