now consider a right angled triangle
the displacement we need to calculate will be the hypotenuse
7.5 is adjacent side
4 is the opposite side

therefore
(hypo)^2 = (adj)^2 + (opp)^2
               = (7.5)^2 + (4)^2
               = 56.25 + 16
               = 72.25
(hypo)^2 = 72.25
hypo = root 72.25
hypo = 8.5 m = 850 cm

therefore displacement = 8.5 m = 850 cm
