A person moves x m north, then 20 m east and then 30root 2 m southwest. If his displacement from the origin is 10 m west, value of x is (give proper solution)​

x = 30 m

● Explanation -

Distance XC is calculated by -

XC = BC.sin45°

XC = 30√2 × 1/√2

XC = 30 m

But,

XC = XO + OC

XC = XO + AB

30 = XO + 20

XO = 10 m

Now, distance x will be calculated as -

x = OA

x = BC.sin45°

x = 30√2 × 1/√2

x = 30 m

Therefore, distance x will be 30 m.
