A person needs 9 steps to cover a distance of one slab. If he increase his height foot length by 4 inches, he needs only 7steps to cover slab length. What is length of slab???

Let the distance covered by the man 1st time by 1 step=x
then total distance=9x
2nd time he increased the distance for 1 step by 4cm then the distance covered in 1 step=x+4
he covered total distance in 7 steps
then total distance=7(x+4)
now from the above 9x=7(x+4
9x=7x+28
9x-7x=28
x=14
now total distance=9×14=126inches
then total distance=9x
