We know from principle of momentum conservation , that ,

mv = m'v'

also , v = at and v' = a't

as initial velocities are 0.

substituting this ,

m.a.t = m'.a'.t

Hence ,

m.a = m'.a'

30×2 = 40 × a'

a' = 3/2 m/s^2

Hence option B is correct.
