Answer:

20 days

Step-by-step explanation:

let original no:of tour days be x

amount given 360 so for first situation, daily expenses=360/x.....(1)

when he increases his touring days by 4, x==>x+4

and he needs to cut down expenses by 3 rs

so we get 3+360/x+4=(1)

therefore 3= 360/x- 360/x+4

taking out 360, rhs==>x+4-x/x^2+4x   { taking lcm}

numerator x gets cancelled and 360x4=1440,denominator multiplied into 3

so our equation is 3x^2+12x-1440.=0.....(2)

dividing (2) by 3

x^2+4x-480=0

x^2+24x-20x-480=0

x(x+24)-20(x+24)=0

(x-20)(x+24)=0

x=20 or -24 .......days cant be negative so original no:of days in the dude's tour is 20 days

stay cool!
