The no of days will be 20
Step-by-step explanation:
Let the no of days be x
Let the daily expenditure be y
So the total amount he has will be the product of the no of days and daily expenditure.
That gives xy = 360
Then from here we get y= 360/x ⇒ eq 1
So the condition given states
{x+4} {y-3} = 360
i.e. xy-3x+4y-12 = 360
360-3x + 4*360/x -12= 360 {from eq 1 }
-3x +1440/x = 12
-3x² =1440=12x
3x² + 12x -1440 = 0
x² +4x - 48= 0
Factorization gives
x= 20
Hence we got it :]
