Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of eggs bought by him be 100x. So he spent 100x/4 =>25x ruppees to buy them. He kept 1/5th of them hence he kept 20x eggs and sold 80x at three a ruppee so the amount earned by him on selling them is 80x/3. 80/3x-25x = 1 => 5/3x = 1 =>x=3/5 =>100x = 100(3/5) = 60. So the number of eggs bought by him was 60. Hope it helps you.

Step-by-step explanation:

total eggs= N eggs

Amount spent = ₹ N/4

kept aside = N/5

eggs sold= 4/5 N

Sellimg prices of per eggs = ₹1/3

total cost price = N/4

Total selling price= 4N/15

profit = selling price - cost price

3= 4N/15 - N/4

multiply whole with 60

3*60= 4N/15*60 - N/4*60

180= 16N - 15N

16N- 15N = 180

N = 180
