this is due to law of inertia of rest ,a body want to rest so a person sitting in a train fall forward when the train suddenly stops.

This also called law of inertia. ... The lower portion of the passenger attached to seat would stop and his upper portion would continue motion due to inertia. that's why the passenger would fall forward because his lower portion become stationary with the seat and his upper portion (chest, head etc) continue motion.
