Given :

1/3 rd of income spend on food,clothes,and education in ratio of 3: 2: 4.

2/5 th part of income is spend on transport and entertainment in ratio of 4 : 5

₹2700 were deposited in bank.

To Find :

Amount spend on food ,clothes and transport

Solution :

Let ,total income be x

Income spend on food, clothes,and

education be (1/3)x

Income spend on transport and

entertainment be (2/5)x

And ₹ 2700 are deposited in bank

As we know,

Total income = Income spend on food, clothes and education + Income spend on transport and entertainment + Money deposited in bank

Therefore,

x = (1/3)x + (2/5)x + 2700

x -(1/3)x -(2/5)x = 2700

(15x - 5x -6x ) /15 = 2700

4x /15 =2700

x = ( 2700 ×15) ÷4

x = 40,500 ÷ 4

x = ₹ 10, 125

Therefore,

Total income of the person is ₹10,125

Amount spend on food , clothes and education = (1/3)x = (1/3)× 10,125 = ₹ 3,375

Let , amount spend on food be 3y

amount spend on clothes be 2y

amount spend on education be 4y

Amount spend on food ,clothes and education = ₹3,375

Therefore,

3y + 2y +4y = 3,375

9y = 3,375

y = 375

Therefore ,

Amount spend on food = 3y = 3× 375

= ₹1,125

Amount spend on clothes = 2y = 2× 375

= ₹ 750

Income spent on transport and entertainment = (2/5)x = (2/5)×10,125

= ₹4,050

Let, amount spend on transport be 4z

amount spend on entertainment be 5z

Therefore amount spend on transport and entertainment = 4z +5z = 4,050

9z = 4050

z = 450

Therefore ,

amount spend on transportation = 4z

= 4×450

= ₹1800

Hence, Amount spend on food ,clothes and transportation is ₹1,125 , ₹750 and

₹1800 respectively.
