The total expenses = 10% + 20% + 40% = 70% ( the total spent from his salary )

Money left after his expenses are 432 rupees

This amount comes when we subtract the amount used from the total amount

Let us find the amount used

Amount used = 70% of total

Total = x

Amount used = 70x ÷ 100

= 7x ÷ 10

Now total - ( 7x ÷ 10 )

x - ( 7x ÷ 10 ) = 432

10 x - 7 x ÷ 10 = 432

3 x = 4320

x = 4320 ÷ 3

x = 1440 rupees

Total income = 1440
